Setting the intranet home page as the default browser page is a great idea — if your employees keep their computers at work. But in a company where most computers are roaming laptops (say, a consultancy where people usually work offsite) it's a challenge: when you start up your browser and you're not at work (or on VPN), you don't want people to get a “host not found” error that causes confusion.
If anybody reading this blog has developed some nice tricks to solve this sort of issue, please share!

Yep… we do use 2 different browser.
In Explorer the defolt home page is the Intranet, in Firefox is the company home page.
In this way if I'looking for some informations on someone or a company document I will open Explorer, othervise I will always use Firefox.
