    Intranets must innovate in order to prosper; they must constantly grow and evolve to better meet the needs of the organisations they serve. While there can be no single 'best intranet', there are innovative ideas and approaches that warrant recognition.

    Step Two Designs not only created these awards but managed to get their name known further and also bring in new clients. This only proves that no one (make that no company) will do something beneficial for others without having something to gain themselves. — drug free rehab

    So what? Good for Step Two for taking the initiative. Yes of course it furthers their reputation… of course. Business does not equal charity, nor should it. Step Two isn't charging anything for this and they share the results and write about the winners so its really a win-win for everyone involved — especially readers who get something for nothing. I'm not sure if you're stating the obvious or making a criticism but I support Step Two for their awards.
