Intranet case study: Intrawest Placemaking

(VANCOUVER, CANADA) Placemaking (325 employees) is the real estate development division of resort developer Intrawest (25,000 employees). Placemaking employees are all knowledge workers and located across the globe developing resort villages such as Whistler-Blackcomb (British Columbia), Mountain Creek (New Jersey), and Tremblant (Quebec).

Tracy Hutton, Director of Learning at Placemaking, wanted to leverage the company intranet to create community at the recently re-organized company. She also wanted a better way to capture Placemaking

Resort villages are very high rated in tourism industry. I had the chance to see Mont Tremblant Condos and i remained deeply impressed. You can find perfection in these places, i appreciate that very much as a tourist.

  2. Huge Investment. I was also running Intranet company LWW (Lahore Wide Web). We run it successfully for 5 years and our main earning is from online games, free songs download etc… But after 5 years or business is gone slow and slow and at the end i have to shut down my intranet business. I hope i can learn lot more from your post and will help me in future, if i decided to start it again. I love to learn it more from your experiences.

  3. I think that this could help this company a lot. I think that the worst thing that they could do is not try. With all that we can accomplish with various methods it is always important to keep your options open.
